Covid-19 closed our schools and nurseries. Our children and young people have been out of the classroom for months and have had to adapt to home-based learning, some without access to digital and other materials or the supports they have when at school. How will this, and the potential move to home-school learning from September, impact on the educational attainment of the most disadvantaged pupils? Has the pandemic widened the inequalities gap, or created new inequalities elsewhere – and how do we close it?
