It’s Life, But Not As We Know It: Society After the Coronavirus

A Virtual Féile Event Fintan O'Toole

About this Event

We have been living through a crisis so profound that even last January seems a world away. Will we return to ‘normal’ as the immediate emergency abates? Even if we could do so, should we? Fintan O’Toole suggests that the virus is both a warning about the vulnerability of our societies and an opportunity to restore the sense of solidarity and interdependence that has been stripped away in recent decades.

Organised by Féile Debates and Discussions Committee and supported by the DFA’s Reconciliation Fund.

Tá muid ag cur géarchéime dínn a bhí chomh domhain sin go raibh an chuma air gur dhomhan iomlán eile a bhí againn i mí Eanáir fiú. An mbeidh cúrsaí normálta arís agus an éigeandáil láithreach seo ag laghdú? Dá dtiocfadh linn sin a dhéanamh fiú, ar chóir dúinn? Molann Fintan O’Toole gur rabhadh an víreas faoi leochaileacht ár sochaíthe agus gur deis meon na dlúthpháirtíochta agus an idirspleáchais, a baineadh ar shiúl leis na deicheanna de bhlianta déanacha anuas, a thabhairt ar ais.
