Michael Dougan in Conversation with Eilish Rooney Brexit: The Story So Far & What Lies Ahead?

Michael Dougan in conversation with Eilish Rooney will offer a legal perspective on the Irish border protocol: what the problem is, what the protocol says and doesn’t say, the Common Travel Area, what we know so far about the UK proposals; and what might happen in the event of a future vote on reunification. Michael Dougan is Professor of European Law at the University of Liverpool and Joint Editor of the Common Market Law Review (the world’s leading journal for European legal studies). He has published extensively on the problems caused by Brexit, provided regular advice to UK and EU institutions and stakeholders on the legal issues raised by Brexit, and regularly speaks at public events across the UK and Europe. Local woman Eilish Rooney is an emeritus scholar at Ulster University and a member of the Constitutional Conversations Group, which has hosted a number of public conversations on the unity referendum provision in the Good Friday Agreement. The conversations have attracted great interest and gained momentum in the context of Brexit.
